A: Challenge Math Online focuses on the Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMPs). These are not grade-level content standards; rather, they emphasize cross-grade skills such as problem-solving, reasoning, communication, representation, and making connections. It will take students some time to get used to the problems and develop problem-solving skills. Please congratulate your student on every problem they solve. Treat each solved problem as an achievement, and each unsolved problem as a challenge for tomorrow. Please remember that problem-solving skills are developed through practice.
A: The main purpose of the program is to develop students' problem-solving skills, not to rank students. However, to add some excitement, we have introduced the Competition Mode. This feature lets interested students compete and showcase their weekly achievements. Participation in Competition Mode is optional.
